In the late Spring of 2018 ETL was asked by one of our established European clients to help them undertake an acquisition in Singapore, a global finance, commerce and transport hub and, with the latter in mind, a focal point for aviation and aerospace in Southeast Asia.  This assignment is being led by Jason Crabtree strongly supported by Adrian Jones.  The complicating factor is that due to the origins of the land law that applies in Singapore, all land ultimately belongs to the State so other persons can only own an estate or some lesser interest in the land.  Taking account of the differing requirements of buyer and seller in this assignment such an acquisition has its challenges.  Nevertheless, working with our financial contacts in the City State ETL, via Adrian Jones, is seeking the design of a solution that will satisfy all parties.

At the same time, ETL was approached by a High Net Worth entrepreneur in India to assist the acquisition of, or majority investment in, a Western high-technology company that would allow the creation of a new high-quality aerospace manufacturing company in one of the fastest growing major economies in the World.  Today, India is ranked sixth in terms of nominal GDP.  Led by Jason Crabtree who has extensive experience of undertaking business in the sub-continent, and strongly supported by Tim Hayter and Adrian Jones with their manufacturing and financial expertise respectively, ETL is in the final stages of defining and agreeing the details of the assignment so as to commence a target search later this Summer which would eventually culminate in a successful acquisition with ETL as the Project Manager.
